Thank author of this post/comment

Happy new year to all! I've been hearing this greeting since after Christmas. The celebration is for thanking the year that has past and welcoming the coming year. This day is also a time for a change and evaluation. Some makes their New Year's resolution, a list of deeds that they want to happen or to change in the coming year.

The past year has been tough, the economic depression, joblessness, etc. The start of the year and the end of the holiday season are the perfect time to redefine things, such as your personal of your family's finances.

Going shopping after the costly holiday season can actually save you more. Almost all shops and stores are offering large discounts just to get clear their stock of holiday items. My mother does this all the time. she buys Christmas ornaments after the holidays which she usually get things even less than half the price. Clothes and other gift items are also on sale at this time, I got a shirt with price 60 percent off its original value.

Before you could bring new stuff, you must purge the old ones. Create space in your closet by giving out thing old shoe that you don't wear anymore or the dress the don't fit you anymore. You can either give or donate you items, or sell them a yard sale.

Re - purpose and recycling old things around the house is also a good idea. Old clothes, bedsheets, pillow cases, and towels, could serve you differently by making them into rugs, potholders, and more. Just try being creative. This way, you save by not needing buy new rugs.

This year could also be an opportunity to learn new things. Fix things around the house your self. Do-it-yourself is a good idea to save money. Instead of buying cookies, you could learn how to make one for your family. Learn how to repair things like repainting, fixing sinks, to as simple as maintaining things around.
